I used to take a class on MCTNA within 4 days of boot camp but this book filled me the gap for information that I need. An author use a very simple language to explain to you with a step by step of example on each topic.
The book did not cover all topic in RouterOS that is why I give only 4 stars but all of information from the book give you a very good confident in yourself to deploy Mikrotik Router in your environment.

This book is really helps to understand basics of RouterOS. So, it's good for beginners, but there aren't a lot of details. For example, if you want to know how to configure basic routing, nat, firewall and basic OSPF-routing, you will like this book. But, if you want to understand how do packets come through the kernel and what is architecture of this OS - this book is not for you.
If you didn't work with RouterOS before - this book is the easiest way to understand basics and some features of RouterOS. If you want to know what's going on in your internet pipe, this book with the Mikrotik router is fabulous. A newbie can acually get started with a Mikrotik following the examples. If you want to learn networking this is a great place to start. He does not assume that you know too much about Mikrotiks but he does assume you know your IP from a hole in the ground.
There is no condescension like I just did and he also assumes that you want to learn this stuff and get better at it. There is extra attention given to the tools available in RouterOS that are found in chapters 11 and Interestingly enough the chapter I enjoyed reading the most was on switching Chapter This is a totally new section that was not covered in his first book.
FYI, this subject vlans, port trunking, autonomous systems and so on is not for a beginner, per se. A list of every feature and function that RouterOS has to offer?
Scripting — Not directly but within some examples there were a few.
